RAID Calculator
RAID Calculator, RAID-Z
We have prepared a RAID calculator for you. Using two sliders, you will be able to quickly figure out how many and what kind of drives your RAID needs to hold your data. You will also immediately see which type of RAID is worth choosing, taking into account speed or security. The numbers presented by the calculator are an approximation, and the speed graph is only an estimated reference.
What is worth keeping in mind?
Most of our clients are small companies for which their data and access to it is critical such as accountants, transport companies and medical facilities. We operate mainly in the northern part of Wielkopolska, although in the vast majority of cases it does not matter, because we solve problems mainly remotely and in practice a visit to the client's place is rare unless we arrange a coffee.
RAID is not BACKUP!
It is sad to regularly hear stories that a customer lost data, yet had it on my NAS server. Devices break, people make mistakes, various disasters happen.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS have a BACKUP of the most important data from the NAS in an extra flesh.
